East Meets Westby David Hunt |
Desert Bikeby Cris BentonWhen I first saw Cris Benton's image (above) that is the basis for this digitally modified version (left), I was wondering what it would look like if it were turned 180°, so I copied it into Photoshop and started playing around. I ended up with the image I call "East Meets West". Cris said that I should post it. Cris has inaugurated a new feature on his web site. It allows anyone to nominate their favorite KAP pictures found on the web, and give a brief description about why they like the photograph. Several pictures have been nominated that used the long shadows before sunset to create striking images. The original of this image was taken by Cris Benton at 2001 Burning Man, and Cris self-nominated it (self nominations are acceptable). It is interesting to note that the image previously occupying this space, by J.J. Miro, also used shadows as a compositional element. Go nominate your favorite KAP image or make comments about those that are already nominate. There are no prizes but it can be a learning experience. |
